I have a Diploma in Integrative Hypnotherapy & Psychotherapy, and currently enrolled on the Advanced Hyp/Psych Course, to gain further skills in CBT, NLP and other techniques. Also, I have a Certificate in Counselling Skills and Theory, a level II Reiki practitioner.

Every client is unique and I specialise in a variety of techniques which can be combined to help individuals achieve their goals.

Originally trained at the Contempory College of Therapeutic Studies which included quality training from two very unique therapists. Tom Barber who is highly experienced in therapy, and change in the work place; Sandra Westland a successful therapist with over 4000 client hours behind her.

The role of the hypnotherapist is to assist the client to go into a natural altered state of awareness, like a daydream state. We all experience this state in our everyday lives. The therapist guides the client to explore their mind to bring about positive change, supporting them in finding their own resolutions. Hypnotherapy is also about empowering the individual to make the changes in their life

Psychotherapy is an interpersonal, relational intervention used by trained Psychotherapists to aid clients to solve their problems. This usually includes increasing individual sense of well being and reducing subjective discomforting experience. It is the application of psychological principles to help a person reach an understanding of themselves and their feelings and behaviour.

I am based at the Holistic Centre, Godalming, Surrey, but live in Aldershot, Hampshire, working evenings and Saturdays to fit in with my clients needs.

Lorraine Knight is registered with the GHR*, this is the registering agency for the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC). It has been established following UK Department of Health guidelines that each separate Complementary & Alternative Medical Profession (CAM) should have a single, central Register of Practitioners.
The Register is comprised of individual practitioners and is open to any Hypnotherapist who is able to satisfy the criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as periodically determined by the GHSC.
All Registered Practitioners are required to maintain adequate Public Liability & Professional Indemnity Insurance and to accept a published *Code of Ethics & Practice and a *Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure. (Available to view on their website).
